The architect of this dwelling, Hugh Newell Jacobsen, was a full Academician of the National Academy of Design. In 1998, he was invited by Life Magazine to participate in their Dream House series, and Life sold over 90,000 sets of construction plans, with property owners in countries such as Argentina, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The late Charles Kuralt once referred to Maine as a place where it’s possible to become so relaxed that your self-winding watch stops working. He called our Harbor the most “perfect small harbor in America.”
